From March 27 to 29, the 2026 National Agricultural Machinery Exhibition was held at Zhumadian International Convention and Exhibition Center in Henan Province. Yuchai unveiled the world's first hybrid electric-drive continuously variable transmission (CVT) powertrain (IE-Power) and the world's first flywheel range-extender system (FRS), focusing on the demand for greener, smarter agricultural machinery upgrades and enabling agricultural modernization through leading powertrain technologies.
The two hybrid powertrains featured at the exhibition - YCA05K IE-Power and YCK09 IE-Power 2.0 - are engineered for 120–160 hp large tractors and 260–320 hp heavy-duty tractors, respectively. These powertrains deliver a maximum fuel savings of 45%, a motor efficiency of over 97%, and a 15%–35% improvement in operating efficiency. With a B10 service life exceeding 30,000 hours, the engine balances the demands of high-intensity field operations with farmers' cost-saving goals. The YCF11 flywheel range-extender system is designed for small-horsepower agricultural machinery and special equipment, delivering fuel savings of 25%–40% and an extended maintenance interval of up to 500 hours. It is compatible with 50–75 hp tractors, agricultural robots, and other equipment. All products meet China's non-road National IV emission standards and international requirements, advancing the transformation of domestic agricultural machinery toward greener, higher-end, and more globalized development.
In recent years, Yuchai has continued to advance in the new energy power sector for agricultural machinery, achieving numerous major R&D milestones. Leveraging independently developed core technologies - including flywheel-integrated motors and electric-drive CVT - the company has broken foreign technological monopolies, established a comprehensive hybrid power product portfolio, and achieved full coverage from small-horsepower general machinery to large-horsepower heavy-duty agricultural machinery. Several hybrid-dedicated engines have exceeded industry benchmarks for thermal efficiency. The modular design of key components has significantly reduced vehicle adaptation and upgrade costs, while the ultra-long service life and extended maintenance intervals have greatly enhanced equipment availability. Notably, Yuchai's hybrid powertrains for agricultural machinery have been mass-produced and widely adopted across major grain-producing regions such as the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain, Northeast China, and Xinjiang, earning strong market recognition.
To date, as China's leading agricultural machinery power brand, Yuchai maintains a dominant position in market influence. It holds the top market share in core segments, including tractors above 200 hp, wheat harvesters, corn harvesters, rice harvesters, silage harvesters, and cotton pickers, solidifying its status as the preferred partner for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and end-users alike.
