Launched in 2022, the "Pioneer Enterprises" selection for China's Industrial Carbon Peaking is a benchmark initiative aimed at fully implementing the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on advancing carbon peaking and carbon neutrality (dual carbon goals). From the three perspectives of research, demonstration selection, and promotion, the program identifies outstanding enterprises, advanced technologies (processes), product equipment, and scalable solutions nationwide-serving as a model and leader in the industry. It offers practical guidance and implementation pathways for the industrial sector to achieve the "dual carbon" goals, while supporting local and industrial enterprises in accelerating industrial transformation, upgrading, and high-quality development. Yuchai (Yuchai Group), a leading power system supplier in China, has fully aligned its operations with this initiative through its strategic layout.

Guided by its "1335" strategic plan, Yuchai pursues progress across three core areas: traditional internal combustion engines, new energy power, and intelligent equipment. To fully align with the national "dual carbon" strategy, the company has integrated energy conservation and emission reduction measures into all aspects of its operations, with tangible efforts evident in each of its core business segments.

In the area of traditional internal combustion engines, Yuchai has developed a full range of diesel and natural gas engines that meet the National VI Emission Standard for commercial vehicles, the National IV Emission Standard for non-road machinery, and the Tier III Emission Standard for marine vessels. Its product lineup spans trucks, buses, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, marine machinery, and power generation equipment, with product performance and emission control meeting internationally advanced standards. In addition to upgrading its traditional engines, Yuchai has also achieved significant breakthroughs in new energy power.

In the new energy power sector, Yuchai has successfully developed a diverse array of new energy products, including pure electric power systems, fuel cells, eCVT (Electronically Controlled Continuously Variable Transmission), and range extenders-many of which are world-first innovations that enable low-carbon and zero-carbon emissions for power systems. Beyond these product and technological advancements, Yuchai has also expanded into intelligent equipment to further enhance its low-carbon capabilities.

Furthermore, in the intelligent equipment sector, Yuchai has expanded its presence by leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies. The company enhances the technical capabilities of the entire engine industrial chain, fosters efficient collaboration across all links, and thereby achieves energy conservation and emission reduction goals throughout the entire lifecycle-from product R&D (Research and Development) to manufacturing and product operation-ultimately guiding the entire internal combustion engine industry toward the sustainable development goal of low carbon and even zero carbon. Beyond its core product and technological initiatives, Yuchai has also strengthened energy management and utilization to further reduce emissions.

Through digitalization and intelligent technologies, the company has established an advanced energy consumption monitoring and management system, enabling precise energy management and significantly reducing production energy consumption and emissions. In 2024, the comprehensive energy consumption per unit product decreased by 54.3% compared with that in 2022. Building on these impressive achievements, Yuchai has formulated clear and forward-looking plans for the future.

Looking ahead, Yuchai will continue to lead China's industrial green transformation, pursue innovation in core technological areas, drive collaborative carbon reduction across the industrial chain, and inject new vitality into the green and low-carbon development of China's industry.
