Recently, 120 Lingong Heavy Machinery hybrid autonomous mining trucks equipped with Yuchai's high-performance YCK16 engine and a 400 kW flywheel range extender system have been dispatched in batches for delivery to coal mines in Xinjiang, advancing the green and intelligent transformation of mine haulage operations.

The delivered vehicles are custom-engineered models integrating hybrid power and Level 4 autonomous driving technology. Equipped with the 775-horsepower Yuchai YCK16 engine and the 400 kW flywheel range extender system, the trucks are optimized for extreme open-pit mine operating conditions: heavy haul loads, heavy dust exposure, and round-the-clock continuous operation. Compared with conventional fuel-only mining trucks, they slash overall energy consumption by 30%, delivering simultaneous reductions in carbon emissions and fuel expenditure.
Furthermore, the flywheel range extender system features low failure rates and extended maintenance intervals, which substantially cuts mine equipment O&M costs and satisfies the high-frequency operational demands of open-pit mines.
All trucks will be fully integrated with the Kuanggu autonomous mine transportation system independently developed by Tage iDriver Technology Co., Ltd. Built on an integrated vehicle-site-cloud collaborative architecture, the system autonomously executes full-process operations including loading and unloading, obstacle avoidance, and dynamic route planning. Upon commissioning, the new trucks will be scheduled in tandem with the mine's existing unmanned equipment to expand the haulage capacity of the autonomous fleet and mitigate safety hazards associated with human driving.
The large-scale rollout of these hybrid autonomous mining trucks further upgrades the low-carbon intelligent transportation ecosystem for mines, and establishes a replicable large-scale model for the intelligent and low-carbon transition of major domestic open-pit mines.
