Recently, the TZ2000 200-ton mining hydraulic excavator developed by Taiyuan Heavy Industry, equipped with Yuchai's flagship large-bore YC12VTD engine, has successfully passed on-site acceptance at a coal mine in Shanxi and been officially put into full-condition normalized operation in open-pit mining areas.
For a long time, the global market for 200-ton and above ultra-large mining hydraulic excavators, as well as their core power systems, has long been dominated by foreign brands. The official commissioning of this equipment marks a significant breakthrough in the domestic substitution of China's 200-ton-class ultra-large open-pit mining equipment, further improving the independent controllability of the high-end mining equipment industrial chain in China.

The supporting Yuchai YC12VTD engine features a displacement of 39.2 liters and a rated power of over 1,250 horsepower. Adopting Yuchai's latest Panqing 5.0 and Benting 5.0 technologies, the engine has been specially optimized for the harsh working conditions of open-pit mines, including heavy dust, continuous heavy loads and alternating high and low temperatures. With strong power output, stable operation and excellent fuel economy, it fully meets the requirements of long-duration and high-intensity operation for 200-ton-class mining hydraulic excavators.
The Yuchai YC12VTD engine has completed full-process verification throughout assembly at Yuchai's production base, complete machine matching and commissioning at Taiyuan Heavy Industry, and on-site acceptance at the Pingshuo Coal Mine.
This successful application and operational matching represents a key achievement of collaborative R&D between Yuchai and Taiyuan Heavy Industry, and fully validates the supporting capability of domestic high-horsepower engines in the field of high-end mining equipment.
