Delivery of 2 Sets of 1800kW 16VC High-Voltage Generator Units for Huawei Xilin Data Center

As a key county-level big data infrastructure project in Guangxi, the Huawei (Xilin) Commercial Big Data Center leverages the industrial layout advantages of the Eastern Data, Western Computing initiative. It is positioned as a regional core hub for data storage, disaster recovery backup and computing power support. Jointly operated by Xilin County Development Investment Group and China Unicom Baise Branch, the center adopts full-range core technologies and equipment provided by Huawei, delivering a stable and reliable computing power foundation for local government digitalization, enterprise data hosting and the implementation of Kunpeng industrial projects. To ensure the all-weather safe and stable operation of the data center's core computer rooms, server clusters and supporting systems, and build a robust uninterrupted power supply system, the project completed the full delivery, on-site acceptance and supporting commissioning of 2 sets of 1800kW 16VC high-voltage generator sets in June 2020.

The delivered 1800kW 16VC series high-voltage generator sets are high-power standby power supply equipment dedicated to data centers and core power supporting devices compliant with T3-grade computer room construction standards. Adopting a mature and reliable high-voltage power supply technical architecture, each unit features a rated power of 1800kW. The parallel configuration of the two units fully meets the requirements for sudden peak loads and redundant backup power supply of the data center. It can effectively cope with sudden working conditions such as mains power fluctuations and power outages, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of computer room servers, storage devices, network equipment and refrigeration systems, and eliminating operational risks including data loss and service interruption. Compared with conventional low-voltage generator sets, the 16VC high-voltage units boast core advantages such as lower power transmission loss, stronger load capacity, higher operational stability, smaller floor area and superior expandability, making them highly suitable for the stringent operating scenarios of large-scale IDC data centers featuring high load, high reliability and long-duration operation.
 
The successful delivery and commissioning of the equipment has improved the power supply infrastructure system of the Xilin Big Data Center and remedied the core shortcomings of the computer room's standby power supply, greatly enhancing the overall power supply reliability and operation & maintenance fault tolerance rate of the data center. The two high-power high-voltage generator sets form a dual-unit redundant backup mode, establishing a multi-protection power supply barrier. They lay a solid power foundation for the data center to undertake massive data storage, government and enterprise disaster recovery backup, internet computing power services and the implementation of related Kunpeng industrial businesses. Meanwhile, they enable the project to continuously exert its core role as a regional digital infrastructure and empower the large-scale and standardized development of the digital economy in Xilin, Guangxi.
