As a key core project of Chaozhou's "Eight Networks + Industry" initiative launched in 2016, the Chaozhou Fengxi Telecom Hub Data Center is a premium T3+ cloud computing data center in Eastern Guangdong, featuring large scale, high security standards and first-class infrastructure. With a total investment of 547 million yuan, it undertakes core responsibilities including regional telecom scheduling, cloud computing services, big data storage and computing power support for Chaozhou and the wider Eastern Guangdong area. It serves as a critical infrastructure foundation for local smart informatization development and digital industry upgrading.

To guarantee 7×24-hour uninterrupted stable operation of the data center and prevent disruptions to telecom computing services, data storage and network scheduling caused by sudden power outages and grid fluctuations, a dedicated emergency standby power generation system was deployed for the project. The system is equipped with 3 sets of 1800 kW high-power diesel generator units (16VC model). The full delivery, on-site acceptance and deployment of the generator system were completed in September 2016. Meanwhile, comprehensive commissioning, linkage testing and load adaptation were finished, enabling the system to be fully integrated into the project's overall supporting infrastructure.

The 1800 kW 16VC diesel generator units are high-capacity standby power equipment customized for large-scale high-end data centers, delivering stable power output, superior load adaptability, low failure rates and rapid emergency response. Adopting a well-structured design and balanced power output, the 16VC model fully accommodates the power demands of high-density cabinets, high-computing devices and continuous high-load operation of data centers. Deployed with redundant standby and collaborative linkage configuration, the three units can operate either independently or in parallel based on real-time computer room load conditions. They are capable of handling daily emergency power supply needs during sudden outages and sustaining full-load continuous operation of the data center under extreme scenarios, ensuring zero downtime for core facilities including servers, network equipment, energy storage systems and security monitoring devices.
The successful delivery and commissioning of this batch of generator units has strengthened the emergency power supply capability of the Chaozhou Fengxi Telecom Hub Data Center and optimized its integrated power supply and distribution infrastructure. It has established a reliable power safety guarantee for the data center's core services, including government and enterprise computing power support, internet data storage and regional telecom hub scheduling. As a key supporting component of the 2016 project construction, these high-power generator units have significantly enhanced the stability, safety and reliability of communication network and cloud computing data services in Eastern Guangdong, providing solid hardware support for the digital industry upgrading and smart city development of Chaozhou City.
