How Is The Water Cooling Principle Of Diesel Generator Set?

Leave a message

A cooling water jacket is cast in the cylinder head and cylinder body of the diesel engine.

After the coolant is pressurized by the pump, it enters the cylinder water jacket through the water distribution pipe. The coolant absorbs the heat of the cylinder wall while flowing, and the temperature rises, then flows into the cylinder head water jacket, and enters the water pipe into the radiator through the thermostat and radiator. At the same time, due to the rotating suction of the fan, the air is blown from the radiator core. The heat of the coolant flowing through the radiator core is continuously dispersed into the atmosphere, and the temperature is reduced.

Finally, it is pressurized by the pump and then flows into the cylinder water jacket again, so the continuous circulation, the diesel engine speed increases. In order to make the multi-cylinder diesel engine before and after the cylinder cooling uniform, the general diesel engine in the cylinder body is equipped with a water distribution pipe or cast water distribution chamber. The water distribution pipe is a metal pipe, along the longitudinal thermal outlet hole, the larger the water pump, so that the cooling intensity of each cylinder before and after can be similar, and the whole machine is cooled evenly.

The water cooling system is also provided with a water temperature sensor and a water temperature meter. The water temperature sensor is installed at the outlet pipe of the cylinder cover to transmit the water temperature of the outlet pipe to the water temperature meter. The operator can understand the working condition of the cooling system at any time with the help of the water temperature table, and the normal working water temperature is generally 80-90 ° C.

The coolant used by the diesel engine should be clean soft water, if the use of hard water, which minerals at high temperatures out, attached to the pipe, water jacket and radiator core to generate scale, reduce the heat dissipation capacity, easy to make the diesel engine overheating, but also plug the radiator core, accelerate the wear of the pump impeller and pump shell.

For hard water with more minerals, it needs to be softened before it can be added to the cooling system. The commonly used method for hard water softening is to add 0.5-1.5g sodium carbonate in 1L water, or add 0.5-0.8g sodium hydroxide, and after the impurities are precipitate, the clean water above is injected into the cooling system.
