As a core communication and computing infrastructure in northern Jiangxi, the Jiujiang Data Center of China Telecom Jiangxi Branch hosts key services including regional communication transmission and cloud data storage. The facility requires extremely high standards of power supply sustainability and reliability, with standby diesel generator sets acting as critical emergency power infrastructure for the computer room. To strengthen the on-site power guarantee system and enhance emergency power supply capability during mains power outages, the data center is equipped with one 1800kW (16VC) diesel generator set. The unit was delivered, installed and fully accepted in April 2021, and has since been integrated into the site's emergency power system to provide mission-critical backup power for the data center.

This 1800kW (16VC) diesel generator set features a high-power V-type 16-cylinder configuration, delivering ample power reserve and robust load-carrying performance tailored for high-reliability data center power scenarios. Integrated with an electronic fuel control system, turbocharged intercooler technology and a four-valve structure, the set offers rapid startup response, outstanding speed regulation stability and excellent load adaptability. It can start up and take on rated loads immediately after mains power failure, fully complying with the emergency power supply specifications for Grade A data centers, and effectively sustaining continuous operation of core computer room equipment to avoid service downtime caused by power interruptions.
The 16VC generator set adopts a high-rigidity integrated structure, which effectively reduces operational vibration and noise, making it well-suited for data center operating modes of long-term standby and instant startup and shutdown. Equipped with high-quality standardized core components, the unit delivers stable performance, low failure rate and extended service life. Its modular structural design and optimized layout reserve adequate space for daily inspection, routine maintenance and fault troubleshooting, fully accommodating standardized operation and maintenance management requirements for data center power equipment.

Since its delivery and commissioning in April 2021, the generator set has maintained consistent and stable operation. It has significantly optimized the emergency power supply architecture of China Telecom Jiujiang Data Center, improved the site's resilience against sudden mains power failures and circuit faults, and provided reliable backup power assurance for the stable operation of regional communication and data services. Its long-term stable field operation fully validates the practicability and operational reliability of the 16VC series high-power generator sets in telecom data center application scenarios.
