To objectively evaluate the real-world operational performance of the Yuchai K08 engine, a comprehensive field test was carried out in strict accordance with the actual working conditions of concrete mixer truck fleets in Thailand. The test route runs from a concrete batching plant to an industrial park, with a one-way distance of 30–50 kilometers on provincial roads.

This setup fully reflects the daily operation demands of mixer fleets, enabling an all-round assessment of the engine's comprehensive performance under real working conditions.

Two SANY concrete mixer trucks were used as test platforms: the SANY SY306C-8Y equipped with the Yuchai K08 engine, and the SANY SY306C-8 fitted with the competing J08E engine. The entire test replicated real-world mixer operations without any special modifications. During the test, both vehicles traveled on the provincial road between the batching plant and the industrial park at a normal speed of 60–80 km/h, ensuring authentic, valid and highly representative test data. A head-to-head comparison was performed under the same route, load and driving conditions to evaluate the core operational performance of the two engines.
After continuous road testing, key operating indicators were systematically recorded. A detailed performance comparison is shown in the table below:
