On March 20-21, the "Advanced Seminar on National IV Emission Standards for Agricultural Machinery" hosted by the China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association and undertaken by Guangxi Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. was successfully held at the Yuchai Engineering Research Institute Nanning Base.
More than 200 people, including Ning Xuegui, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association, Lin Zhiqiang, Chief Engineer of Yuchai Co., Ltd., leaders, technical leaders, and inspection and appraisal leaders of agricultural machinery and parts enterprises, participated in the seminar.
The implementation of the National IV emission standards is of great significance for the technological progress and industrial upgrading of agricultural machinery, and also brings unprecedented challenges and pressure to agricultural machinery and component production enterprises such as tractors, harvesters, and agricultural engines. In order to further interpret national environmental policies, deepen the understanding of National IV standards, introduce and promote new technologies and products of National IV, and ensure the smooth implementation of National IV emission upgrades, this seminar spent two days inviting experts from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the drafting units of National IV emission standards to share with technical personnel from agricultural machinery and component production enterprises participating in the seminar. Combining the provisions and design examples of National IV emission standards, the key points and difficulties were analyzed in depth, and the understanding and experience of National IV emission related work were shared to help agricultural machinery host enterprises quickly meet the design requirements of National IV stage.
Regulations are an important driving force for industrial progress and development. In recent years, with the upgrading of emission regulations and the implementation of purchase subsidy policies, China's agricultural machinery industry and internal combustion engine industry have developed rapidly. The industry has shown characteristics such as unexpected growth in the output of major products, stable import and export, outstanding performance of leading enterprises, and further improvement in product technology. Yuchai has established more than 40 domestic and foreign product technology research and development centers by building a multidimensional technology platform and connecting industry, academia, research and application channels. It has formed a powerful R&D and innovation platform with independent R&D technology as the core and connected to the world's cutting-edge technology. The National VI and Non Road National IV engines, which have invested billions in R&D and manufacturing, have truly undergone a transformation compared to Yuchai's original National V and Non Road National III products. The product's performance indicators such as fuel consumption, service life, torque, oil change interval, and weight have reached world-class levels.
In addition, Yuchai has always led the industry's emission upgrade with technological innovation. After being the first in the industry to release a series of non road National IV diesel engines in 2018, multiple engines passed the non road National IV type certification at the beginning of this year, becoming the only engine manufacturer in China to simultaneously pass the non road National IV SCR and EGR dual line type certification. Yuchai is also helping partner vehicle companies carry out vehicle type certification, making full preparations for the early implementation of non road National IV regulations and the early release of non road products in Beijing and other places, and promoting agricultural modernization development with practical actions.

Ning Xuegui pointed out that with the increasing attention of the country to environmental protection, upgrading vehicle emission standards is imperative. As the implementation time of non road National IV regulations approaches, associations, enterprises, and governments should jointly create a fair and excellent competitive environment, strictly implement national emission regulations, and agricultural machinery related enterprises should make full use of limited time to effectively complete the calibration, testing, promotion and identification, production preparation, product launch, and other work of non road National IV products according to nodes. He emphasized that the agricultural machinery industry is entering a stage of high-quality development, but there is still significant room for improvement in industry technology. Intelligence, especially in the upgrading of the agricultural machinery industry, is a breakthrough point. We need to take advantage of the emission upgrade to further enhance the intelligence level of agricultural machinery products, accelerate the progress of intelligent technology and industrialization of agricultural machinery in China.
